If you’re strolling down King Edward Avenue, you won’t miss the spectacular glass lobby of the new $70-million Advanced Research Complex of Ottawa University. Its Grand Opening, held inside this glazed light-filled lobby on Tuesday, September 30th 2014, brought together scholars, professors, scientists, members of the provincial and federal government as well as the architects, engineers and technicians that made this building a reality.
Mona Nemer, vice-president of research at the U of O, led the ceremony which also included words from Allan Rock, University President and politicians including Reza Moridi Minister of Research and Innovation, Ottawa-Vanier MPP Madeleine Meilleur, and Ottawa-Orleans MP Royal Galipeau.
Many of the project team gathered in front of the ARC’s main entrance for a photo commemorating the moment. Our principal architect, David Cole, alongside his associate and project architect, Dino Di Sano, gathered with Ray Licari, Claudio Brun del Re, Patrick Hebert, Francis Pomerleau and Kathy Plaunt. C+A is proud to have been an integral part in this project and look forward to the accomplishments that will be made at this new facility.
