APPROACHING LEED GOLD! The 14,000 metre square Advanced Research Complex is nearing completion. Scientific Architecture is complicated business, and COLE+Associates Architects are proud to be part of yet another stellar building on the uO campus. Top research minds in the areas of Photonics and Earth Sciences will work in tandem in this highly specialized research facility, bringing the University of Ottawa one step closer to number one position in the field. The project has had a tight budget tied to grants from the Canada Foundation for Innovation New Initiative Fund, and the Leading Edge fund. The two funds contributed $13.7M to the $57M project, giving the University of Ottawa the jump start required to initiate the program.
The team at COLE+Associates and our sub-consultant team have worked tirelessly with the University and constructor Pomerleau, to create a world-class building that will answer the University’s need for space required to house the accelerated mass spectrometer. This new piece of equipment marks a highlight in research, not only for the University,
but also for the greater scientific community in Canada.
Stay tuned for more updates and photos of the project. We are excited to share our accomplishments, and this is truly an exceptional building with exceptional requirements.
