    Location: Clarence-Rockland, Ontario
Client: Clarence-Rockland Recreational and Cultural Centre

The City of Clarence-Rockland wanted to build a “wellness centre” facility that could bring their community together. This project included the construction of a new library with community spaces on the second floor, a gymnasium, a YMCA running track and fitness area, aquatics centre and change rooms to accommodate each area and user group. The aquatic centre consists of a 25m pool, wading pool, hot tub, waterfalls and is universally accessible. The new centre was built beside the existing High School and attached through a corridor.

The overall complex is 65,000 sf with a construction cost of $17 million. The complex is a partnership between the City, the school board and the YMCA/YWCA. This new centre provides an environment that appeals to a wide demographic and offers a variety of programs that gives the community a safe and local place to go. C+A worked in association with Shore Tilbe Irwin and Partners.
